The commercial drone simulator you will be flying uses accurate flight modelling to ensure your time spent on the simulator directly benefits your real world flying. When flying commercially you may lose GPS satellite reception or suffer other sensor failures so it’s important that you have experience in a less assisted mode (eg stabilized) to safely fly your drone back to the landing area.

Rotor Pilot supports a wide range of real-world RC flight controllers that connect to your computer via USB. Depending on your controller this will be via a direct cable, trainer port cable and dongle or radio link adapter. You can also fly the simulator using a standard two joystick gamepad

Your flight begins when you start your motors and ends when you have landed and stopped your motors. For the duration of your flight Rotor Pilot records your performance for later playback and review. Ground track and height charts allow you to see how accurately you have flown your assignment. This is great for checking the accuracy of your line of sight perspective as well as your height control.
